These terms govern your use of the Bernt mobile application and related services. By using Bernt, you agree to these terms.

The Service

Bernt is an AI-powered kitchen companion that helps you manage your pantry, generate recipes, and plan meals. The service requires an account and an internet connection.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide a valid email address. One account per person.

AI-Generated Content

Bernt uses artificial intelligence to generate recipes, meal plans, and suggestions. While we strive for accuracy:

• AI-generated recipes are suggestions, not professional dietary or medical advice.
• Always use your own judgment regarding food safety, allergies, and dietary restrictions.
• We do not guarantee the nutritional accuracy of generated content.
• You are responsible for verifying that recipes are safe for you and anyone you cook for.

Subscriptions & Payments

Free tier. Bernt offers a free tier with limited AI usage.

Bernt Pro. A paid subscription that provides expanded AI usage limits. Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store or Stripe and auto-renew unless cancelled.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store settings or the Account tab in the app.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or rate limiting
• Submit malicious input designed to manipulate or exploit the AI system
• Abuse, harass, or impersonate others through the service
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or programmatically access the service without permission

Content Ownership

You retain ownership of any content you create (pantry lists, custom recipes, meal plans). Recipes generated by Bernt's AI are provided for your personal use.

Service Availability

We aim to keep Bernt available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Limitation of Liability

Bernt is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to issues related to AI-generated recipes or meal plans.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Bernt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
